Elijah Craig 18-Year-Old Single Barrel Bourbon is back after not being on the market for a couple of years. Heaven Hill released only about 15,000 750ml bottles of Elijah Craig 18-Year-Old Single Barrel. Let’s see what this bottle has to offer……
Nose: Refined nose. Rich with your stereotypical vanilla, caramel, and old oak. Little mint and dark chocolate.
Palate: Like the nose, vanilla, caramel, and that oak. I like oak when I get to these aged spirits. It has been in the barrel a long time, it should taste like it.Very light, but getting peanut. Mild mouthfeel.Enjoyable.
Finish: This is where this pour falls off for me. Getting a sharp astringent hit on the back of the throat with some oak. Stays with you for a while too. Wish that palate continued through the finish.
Decent pour. Has a solid nose and palate, but the finish was a let down. I purchased this bottle for $127. Unfortunately, can’t say that it is worth the price, but always fun to try new pours. I love their regular Elijah Craig 12 Year (recently announced going to a “no age statement”, tear), but this one just misses the mark for me based on price. Looking forward to their other releases though. Cheers!18 year, Bourbon, bourbon blog, bourbon review, cleveland, elijan craig, review, whiskey, Whiskey blog, Whiskey review
